Back to the fray

Well, after almost a week out of work due to that nasty cold, I went back to work yesterday, and it was a good day. However, I can't say the same about today. And I haven't even left the house yet. Probably the worst my nausea has been yet. I had been trying to avoid medicine as much as possible, but I just took a Zofran (the BEST nausea medicine ever...and quite possibly the most expensive - thank God for insurance!) to get me through the day. Pregnancy is not for wusses. :)

But, even with how uncomfortable it can be, I wouldn't trade a minute of it...nausea and all.

Doug is sure that Sprout is a boy. I've been leaning more towards girl. We should know sometime in April, if he/she is cooperating.

Doug's sister Amy and her kids are coming to spend Friday night with us. It's a big basketball weekend for our family. Amy's husband, Tom, is a (fabulous) basketball coach, and we travel every year for two of his games with the whole family. It's tons of fun. Hopefully Sprout will be more athletically inclined, like his/her dad's side of the family, and not like its mom!!

Hope you all are well. Off to work. Happy to report that the nausea is gone. I love Zofran. Maybe that's a good baby name.....

I thought pregnant ladies were supposed to be treated delicately...

However, I have learned that that is not always the case. I've managed to come down with a pretty nasty upper respiratory infection. I actually missed a trip to San Diego for work because of it. And the stuff that I can take is minimal, at best. So I sound like a wounded goose. And, to top it off, the morning sickness is really starting to rear its ugly head. Insult to injury, I tell ya...

And today is Doug's birthday (Happy Birthday, Sprout's Daddy!!!). The only thing I've managed to do for him is to change into a CLEAN pair of his sweats. Winner wife = me.

Here we go...

So the journey begins! We are having a baby! We're 7 weeks pregnant with The Sprout. At this point, everything looks perfectly, wonderfully normal. We'll keep you updated through this blog with pictures and all that good stuff.

I keep going back and forth as to whether it's a boy or girl. Somewhere on the left of the screen, there should be a poll. What do you think? To help you out, here's a (very fuzzy - taken by my phone from a hard copy of the ultrasound picture then e-mailed) picture of Sprout.
