Pro Pics

Nissa and Chris came to visit a couple of months ago, and brought all their fancy schmancy photography equipment. Here are some of the results.....

I *love* this one

Me and my girl

As always, Nissa and Chris, thank you, thank you, thank you!

Uh...hi....remember us?

Well. Yes. Ahem.

It has been quite awhile, hasn't it? I suppose I'll just say that life got away from me and leave it at that....

So, Lexie is a year old! Almost 14 months, actually. It's hard to believe that our girl is REALLY a toddler. And toddle she does, all over the place. She's also developing quite a vocabulary. She says a lot of words, and signs quite a few. We are SO glad that we decided to do some (very limited) signing with her...she can tell us when she's hungry, when she wants milk or water, she can say "please" and "thank you". It makes it a lot easier to communicate with her. She still gets mad when we can't figure out what she wants, but it doesn't happen all that often.

It looks like she's going to be on the petite side, height-wise. Her weight gain has slowed a bit, and so as her growth in height. But the pediatrician says she's still not worried about either. Lexie is still a good eater, though lately she's gotten a bit picky. We really can't complain, though. She eats vegetables and fruit like there's no tomorrow, so I think we got fairly lucky. Protein is still my biggest challenge when it comes to feeding her. Here tastes change quite frequently, so it's a guessing game as to what she'll eat when it comes to meat. So we do a lot of dairy to get the protein in.

We had her 1st birthday party along with our annual Labor Day party. It was so wonderful to have so many friends and family come to celebrate with us. Lexie got to see a bunch of her friends and made some new friends, too.

She has moved up to the Pre-Toddler room at her daycare. It was quite a change from the Infant room. There are Lexie-sized tables and chairs, stairs to practice climbing up and down, and a castle built into the wall where she loves to sit and "read". She'll only be there until she's 16 months old, and then she moves upstairs to the Junior Toddlers.

Halloween came and went without much fanfare. We stayed at home this year, and didn't get a single trick-or-treater. We didn't even dress Lexie up this year. Somehow, when I was going through all of the clothes that Doug's sisters gave to Lexie, I organized things too well, and I can't remember where I put the Halloween costumes! I'm sure I'll find them around the New Year....

And now to catch you up for the last few months!!

I can't remember if I've posted this picture already or not, but it's one of my favorites of all the cousins on Doug's side of the family. Peyton, Sierra, Lexie, Reagan, Davis, Caleb, & Kylee.

I was so enamored with watching her at her birthday party that I didn't get that many pictures! But here are a few shots of the most important part....the (cup)cake!

Singing to her...she's not sure what's happening.

Trying the icing.....

That's not so bad, I think I'll try some more!

Making it all gone....

Wearing the outfit that Aunt Bri bought her (she actually bought it when Lexie was first born) and riding the birthday present from Mr. Kris and Miss Shearin.

I have more pictures, but my computer is acting weird....so I'll just close this now, and post more pictures later. I'll do better....promise!! :)
