We had her 9 month Well Baby Visit and she is doing great. She dropped a bit on the height growth chart, but the pediatrician isn't worried at all, so I'm trying not to worry either! She's wearing all 12-month clothes now. The 9-month clothes are too small in height as well as being too snug. She's rolling all over the place now, can get from sitting to her tummy, and has gotten from her belly to sitting a handful of times. She can sometimes get on her hands and knees by herself, but not very often, and not with a lot of enthusiasm! The pediatrician says that she may always be a bit behind in her gross motor skills because she's such a big girl, but that she'll catch up and be just fine. Her teachers at daycare have actually seen her pull up to standing a couple of times, though she hasn't shown it to Mom or Dad yet....
She's started eating "real people" food, as well. Her favorite is Cheerios, but she's eaten pears, peas, broccoli, English muffins, garden burgers, cucumbers, onions (!), pasta....the list goes on. We're enjoying introducing new flavors and textures to her. I think we enjoy meal time more than she does!
We took Lexie on her first family vacation in May. Doug's entire family went to Wintergreen (a ski resort in Western Virginia). 8 adults and 7 kids under the age of 9. We had a great time. Lexie loved seeing all of her cousins, and really enjoyed the new sights and things to do. We went hiking, to the beach, to a concert, and had lots of great family time. Lexie did very well travelling and spending the night in a new place.
A few pictures to make you smile..
